Laser targeting is not about chasing a light point

The laser must designate a point of interest. The dog must identify that point, maintain emotional control and wait for the final order from the handler before performing the required mission.

Principle 01

Visual designation

The dog learns to understand that the laser indicates a precise location in the environment.

Principle 02

Emotional control

The protocol prevents the dog from turning the laser into an object of predation.

Principle 03

Multiple missions

Once the point has been designated, the order you give determines the mission the dog must perform.

Laser Targeting Training Guide

One course. Two complementary formats.

The written guide explains the structure, objectives and key points of each exercise. The videos allow you to observe the actual setup, timing and progression.

  • A 67-page illustrated practical guide.
  • 10 videos showing the exercises and their progression.
  • Clear explanations of the important points to observe.
  • The main mistakes that can compromise the dog's understanding.
  • A structured progression from the first association to operational application.
  • Immediate access after purchase.
  • Lifetime access to the course content.

A complete protocol in nine steps

Each step develops a specific part of the dog's understanding in order to achieve optimal learning.

Step 01

Visualization

Teach the dog to clearly identify and visually locate the designated point.

Step 02

Discrimination

Teach the dog to distinguish the designated point from other possible targets.

Step 03

Trust

Develop the dog's trust in the handler's visual indication, even when the reward is not visible.

Step 04

Environment

Integrate the exercise into different locations, surfaces and points of interest.

Step 05

Obedience

Teach the dog to reach the point and wait for the final order without self-rewarding.

Step 06

Deconditioning

Remove unnecessary visual aids and reduce dependence on the setup used during training.

Step 07

Generalization

Make the behavior reliable at different distances, in different environments and situations.

Step 08

Re-send

Teach the dog to return to a designated point or continue the mission after being redirected.

Step 09

Operational application

Training with an operational purpose.

A rare professional resource

One of the only, if not the only, complete practical guides dedicated to laser targeting

Laser targeting is still poorly documented and is often reduced to teaching a dog to chase a light point. This course presents a complete protocol designed to develop controlled, precise and operational behavior.

One visual signal. Several operational applications.

The laser indicates the target. The order given determines the mission the dog must perform.

Detection

Direct the dog toward a precise area, vehicle, object, opening or point of interest to search.

Intervention

Designate a target in a complex environment or in the middle of a crowd.

Search and rescue

Guide the dog as close as possible to a victim, search area or difficult-to-access location.

Daniel Hergott - Werwolf K9

Who is behind Werwolf K9?

I am Daniel Hergott, founder of Werwolf K9. We specialize in operational dog training, with an approach focused on field application, precision and emotional control.

I spent 10 years in French operational forces, within the police and parachute commandos.

This experience allowed me to develop my own techniques and training protocols to prepare dogs capable of performing technical tasks while maintaining a direct connection with their handler.

My goal is to create multi-purpose dogs capable of maintaining emotional control under all circumstances.

Access essential knowledge

Follow a complete, structured protocol to teach laser targeting without creating behavioral problems or pursuit of the light point.
